A System for All

For two years, we at IISC have been working with the staff of the William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund, based in Hamden, CT, as it has responded to a “community call” and stepped up to convene a multi-stakeholder process to create a “blueprint” for a state-wide early childhood development system that works for all children and families, regardless of race, income, or ability.  IISC staff have served as lead process consultants and facilitators.  To date, the initiative that has come to be known as Right from the Start has pulled together advocates, service providers, and community members/parents to explore and map what currently exists, create a vision and underlying values for an equitable system, and identify key leverage areas for change.  One of the results has been an ongoing communications and conversation campaign that includes video storytelling.  The video above is meant to serve as a conversation starter and continuation, and outlines the core commitments Right from the Start members see as being critical to creating a system that works for all.

How do you respond?  What would you add?
