Sara considers herself a utility player in Boston’s social sector with 30 years experience in organizational, program and project management, grant writing, court-based mediation, and more. Throughout this time, she has led and participated in the design and facilitation of processes to improve effectiveness and foster collaboration in work and community settings where the focus is on building community and advancing social justice. Sara found her way to IISC in 2004 – and found it to be the perfect place to work for social change with high competence, collaborative people who share a fierce commitment to social justice. Sara provided content and project management services to IISC clients and worked on a variety of internal projects as a member of the staff for 11 years and is now continuing her affiliation with IISC while contemplating the design and details of the next chapter of her professional story. Sara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Master of Public and Private Management from Yale University. When not working, Sara can usually be found riding her bike, hanging out with family and friends, or exploring the endless array of unique experiences and interesting nooks and crannies of Somerville, where she recently moved.
