Transformative Leadership Development Program

The Institute for Civic Leadership is a regional multi-sector civic leadership program in greater Portland, Maine for which IISC, in collaboration with our partner David Chrislip, designed a fifteen-day, civic leadership program that includes skills transfer, personal reflection, diversity awareness, dialogue, and a practicum. We continue to deliver this transformative leadership development program in partnership with ICL staff.


  • We (BSAS Consumer Advisory Board) had the honor and privilege of working with Mistinguette Smith as our convener/facilitator/guide/teacher for a day long retreat in North Andover a few weeks ago. A formidable statuesque woman with sincerity, strength, spirit, know-how, experience and heart. She met us where we were at, which in this case, was all over the place. She challenged us, made us laugh, put us in connection with our weaknesses and provided us resources to gain/regain our power. Mistinguette was ‘just what the doctor ordered’. There is much gratitude and appreciation for the endless skills that she unearths to reach the desired outcomes. We look forward to meeting again on life’s journey to make this world a better place. How fortunate Interaction Institute for Social Change is to have her sharing her gift under its banner.
