Hannah Lucal is a project manager, facilitator, and organizer for social justice. She is associate director of Open MIC, the Open Media & Information Companies Initiative. At Open MIC, she organizes investor support for corporate accountability campaigns, targeting companies that sell technologies that perpetuate racism, disinformation, and surveillance. She helps convene Racial Justice Investing, a network that builds investor solidarity with social justice movement groups and provides education about efforts to transition from racial capitalism to an economy that works for everyone. Hannah is also a Take Back Tech Fellow with Mijente and Just Futures Law, where she conducts research and supports local organizing campaigns that combat tech policing deployed against Black, Latinx and immigrant communities.
As an equity practitioner, Hannah facilitates racial justice workshops and white anti-racism affinity groups for educators and nonprofit staff with groups including the Center for Racial Justice in Education, The Human Root, CARLE Institute, and The Village Enrichment Associates. She enjoys reading, lounging, gardening on her roof, and eating delicious foods.
