Jen Willsea

Affiliate Consultant/Trainer

Jen Willsea is an Atlanta-based white consultant and coach devoted to ending white supremacy. She is curious about creative ways to build community that will restore everyone’s humanity. Jen was raised in Rochester, NY and spent the early ’00s in the San Francisco Bay Area working with organizations including Peace Action West, Critical Resistance, the Challenging White Supremacy Workshop, and Community United Against Violence. Over the last decade, she has co-facilitated race equity initiatives for groups working in public health, philanthropy, HIV/AIDS, oral health, youth programs and juvenile justice; creating space for people to learn, plan, and act together.

Jen was a Senior Associate at the Interaction Institute for Social Change (IISC) from 2008-2018, where she honed her craft as a facilitator and group process designer, and trained hundreds of people in collaborative leadership and facilitation skills.  She co-led a project in 2014-2015 that raised over $1 million from over 100 individual donors for Black-led organizing projects across the U.S. in honor of Michael Brown’s birthday. Previously, she co-chaired the Resource Generation board of directors, a group that organizes young people with wealth and class privilege towards equitable distribution of land, wealth and power. Jen is a licensed trainer with IISC, Transforming White Privilege: A 21st Century Leadership Capacity, and VISIONS Inc.

Jen holds a B.A. in religion and anthropology from Mount Holyoke College and a Masters in Theological Studies from Harvard University. Jen is also a parent of a toddler, a lover of ancient trees and oceans, a textile crafter, an (out of practice) accordion player, an enthusiastic transplant to the South, and a cook.
