Malika Kalima (whose name means the Queen who speaks) is an expert Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access (DEIA) strategist, coach, and trainer from the Bronx, New York of Garifuna and West Indian heritage. She has over ten years of experience building and supporting organizational change movements centered on anti-racism, intersectionality, health equity, and reproductive justice both in the U.S. and abroad. She is skilled in creating and building pipelines to attract, develop, and include people from multicultural backgrounds and multi-dimensional identities. Malika believes that creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment requires expansive thinking followed by just policies and ongoing behaviors. She utilizes her lived experience, racial equity, reproductive justice, and behavioral health lens to help organizations create sustainable anti-racist policies, processes, and practices that encourage “equity in all things.”

Outside of IISC, Malika enjoys nature, exploring the world, eating and cooking yummy meals, playing with dogs, farming, dancing to music from all over the African diaspora, and learning new things that “shake her to her core.”
